Founded in 2009 during one of the most challenging real estate markets in recent history, Home Forward was created to provide homeowners with an alternative to selling during a difficult economic climate. Starting with just seven properties for two owners, the business quickly identified a significant need for professional property management services. Within only a few years, it had grown to more than 350 properties, laying the foundation for what would become a thriving property management company.
As the company continued to expand, co-owners Debbie Adams and Nathan Peel worked together to build the systems, organization, and operational structure needed to support long term growth. They approached the process from the ground up, developing efficient workflows, strengthening operations, and creating a foundation that would allow the company to continue scaling without sacrificing service. Today, Home Forward manages approximately 1,250 residential rental properties while maintaining a strong focus on responsiveness, professionalism, and personal care.
Home Forward serves residential property owners who prefer not to be hands on landlords, removing the challenges associated with managing rental properties. The company handles everything from tenant relations and maintenance coordination to accounting and property operations, allowing owners to protect their investments while reclaiming valuable time. An in-house maintenance team completes the majority of repair work, helping provide responsive service and cost-effective solutions.
For the leadership team, the work is about much more than managing properties. “There is no more intimate place for someone than their home,” Nathan said. “If you are a good landlord or property manager, then you have the privilege of improving people’s lives by giving them a great place to live.” That belief continues to shape the company’s culture and guides the way Debbie, Nathan, and their team approach every resident, homeowner, and investment property they serve.
One of Home Forward’s defining philosophies is that it can be both “pro landlord” and “pro resident.” While many see those priorities as conflicting, the leadership team believes they go hand in hand. By maintaining homes, responding to concerns, and creating positive living experiences, residents are more likely to care for the property and uphold their lease agreements, ultimately benefiting everyone involved.
The company’s mission is “to create a place where team members, residents, homeowners, and home investors feel at home.” That commitment influences every decision the company makes, from hiring local team members with deep market knowledge to providing responsive communication and dependable service. Debbie and Nathan share the belief that changing the perception of property management begins with treating both owners and residents with professionalism, respect, and genuine care.
Home Forward is also proud to be a family-owned business. Debbie Adams and Nathan Peel serve as co-owners, and the leadership team recently welcomed Debbie’s son and Nathan’s brother to the company as a property manager. Together, they continue building a business centered on relationships, accountability, and service.
“What excites me most is the ability to change the idea of what a landlord is,” Nathan said. “The general sentiment is that landlords are hard to get along with, slow to fix things, raise rent without providing value, and are difficult to contact. We aim to be the opposite.” Through responsiveness, professionalism, and genuine care for the people they serve, Home Forward continues to redefine what property management can look like.
